A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Is it possible to be subconsciously maniacle? I talk too much. In reflection of conversations I suddenly become aware that I have said too much. Recently in a well intended conversation I casually mentioned what I thought was common knowledge about a friends social activities, I guess not. How was I to know she didn’t tell the “whole truth”? And you know I should know that she wouldn’t do that, based on her “social activities”. I didn’t really know I let anything slip until I reflected on the conversation. Did I mention I talk to much. I have some ’splain’n to do. What bugs me is…did I do that on purpose? Did my brain switch on to bitch mode and dig deep for some nugget of vindictive satisfaction b/c I didn’t think anything of it at the time. After awhile does being biting and sarcastic come so naturally that you don’t even know you are being this way? God I hope not, I’m banking on naivety and authenticity (which of course is synonymous with biting and sarcastic), b/c even though I do find it humorous I sincerely didn’t mean to be divulging. I have been told that I expect people to be “like me” and that is where my disappointment lies. I don’t necessarily think thats true except to some extent of basic morals and values which I guess can be subject to the scrutiny of the individual. But honesty is up there at the top of the list and I don’t mean the kind of honesty where you just say whats necessary. In this situation, this particular friend hooked her boyfriend up with a job working for the guy she was sleeping with while she was “dating” him and apparently says that they were “friends”. Now ok, that’s honest, I’m sure they were and are still friends but ….yeah see it’s different now because she has connected them together in a working relationship with her as the common denominator and fails to mention that very important piece of information that could really make things go very badly. And of course I did. Very casually. Mention that. Run away. So now I am probably the bad friend right, but how could I have known. So either my friends are dishonest or I am inconsiderate. Maybe both. I’m sure of one thing. It isn’t the first & won’t be the last. Sigh…

(taking foot out of mouth)

-Took a poll- the consensus is I’m not guilty and she should be more understanding. Also been thinking of introducing her to “Nathan” my geology lab teacher. Now that would be maniacle ;)
