SLeuth - short story part 2 published

Posted in Contributors, Recent, Reviews, Shows
I have been part of a writers’ group in the virtual world SecondLife for some time, and last year was asked if I’d like to submit something for the literary journal SLiterary. The deadline was only a few days away, but I had been toying with an idea for a novel for some time and [...]

Love Huh…

Posted in Contributors, Recent, Reviews, Shows

You can never truly know what love is until you have had your heart broken and even then the interpretation is somewhat lacking. But maybe Nietzsche said it best:

There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche ~

Stanley Steamer - Ottawa Science and Technology Museum

Posted in Contributors, Recent, Reviews, Shows
It looks like many other 1920s cars, but this one would meet the most severe emissions controls. Steam cars are like that. The 1921 Stanley tourer at the Ottawa Science and Technology museum is in excellent condition - and is in good hands to stay that way. Although Stanley was the most commercially successful steam car, [...]

Brooks steam car - Ottawa Science and Technology Museum

I had read here about the Brooks steam car - made in Canada in the 1920s. The car was underpowered and overpriced, but it was manufactured and more than 100 were built. Only a handful survive. This is a tale of how I got to see one up close and personal. The article mentioned that there [...]

I was having a shitty day until I discovered some glimmer of retribution. Good news. Well it makes me happy anyways. I was thinking about forgiveness and how I will never ever forgive this heifer I have harbored ill will for … and now her boring ass pursuit of a career has her moving far far away to the outskirts of humanity and it just brings me joy. I know..hand slap on the bad mojo, but seriously I will never be able to forgive her or accept that she walks the same earth as I do so its best that she stays very far away and the chances of us ever running into each other are slim to none so ….I am relieved and over joyed. Buh bye. I hope she freezes her over sized ass off and has to wear those ugly ass UGG boots every day. ta ta you have to let me have this one little joy. I have been waiting for a long time and now I feel as though I can scratch her off my next life hit list. ahhhh…….deep cleansing breath….

Juicy Danger Meets Burning Man!

Posted in Contributors, Recent, Reviews, Shows

Have you ever seen Juicy Danger Meets Burning Man?! I bet not. It’s a little cult classic documentary about two circus performers from Canada who made the trek to their first burn way back in 1997. It’s a sweet little love story and adventure, (complete with chainsaws!) back in time to a Burn of years past. The film was released on VHS 10 years ago and has just been re-released on DVD.

What better reason to pay a visit to Vancouver, BC to attend the DVD release party and check out what the Vancouver Burner community is up to.
